I am trying to get the lossy formats added to the menu. I do not need this video to be lossless, as long as the text in the video is still legible, it is good enough. I want to export to a lossy format, but there are no lossy formats available. I think there is a bit of confusion here. I had scaled the video to 3x speed and tried to output at 1080P30. #Kdenlive ffmpeg options installI had to install mediainfo-gui, results for the source video are attached as a screen shot. It is quite possible that I screwed something up in the process, but it is quite clear to me that uninstalling and re-installing does not fix anything for this application. I finally made multiple attempts to click on the invisible menu items, and after about 20 attempts, (many of those attempts causing kdenlive to crash), I managed to click the correct menu item and get back to a usable theme. I tried uninstalling and deleting every directory on the system with the kdenlive name, then re-installing, but the broken theme was still there. I tried uninstalling and re-installing, but the broken theme selection remained. I tried changing themes and styles, but one of the ones I selected got me black text on a black background in the menu, and I could not undo that. I tried uninstalling it and re-installing it, that did not help I had a bit of trouble with it in that it originally had no icons. #Kdenlive ffmpeg options softwareKdenlive was installed using the Software Manager. If you select a "lossless" format that is larger or a different video file type (container) than the originals and or a higher frame rate, you will get a larger video size and it will take longer to render. It would also help to know what the original video(s) resolutions, video file types, and their frame rates are (can use "mediainfo-gui") and what the Kdenlive project resolution and frame rate is that you chose. How did you install Kdenlive? I always recommend installing Kdenlive from the Mint "Synaptic Package Manager (SPM)" along with all of its recommended and suggested packages even if you decide to later use their AppImage or Flatpak options. I would also use "ffmpeg" v3.x which is in the Linux Mint 19.x "Synaptic Package Manager (SPM)", but would require a different installation method for Linux Mint 18.x. I also recommend installing "ubuntu-restricted-extras". I'll assume you installed the 3rd party software during the Mint installation, if not install "mint-meta-codecs". If you run " inxi -Fxzd" from the console terminal prompt, highlight the results, copy and paste them back here, that should provide enough information. It would help to know more about your system setup.
